Summit Land Conservancy

Think back to when you experienced Park City for the first time.  You probably remember the wide-open view of mountains and the joy of crisp, clean air.  In 2020 we learned just how important access to the outside, to sunshine and fresh air, really is.  The Summit Land Conservancy, an accredited land trust, permanently protects the open spaces that are most important to our communities. Most of our protected properties provide year-round public access, and we work to ensure that all members of our community can enjoy the trails across these open lands.  Based in Park City, we focus our efforts in Summit County and along the Wasatch Back, where working and natural lands are rapidly being lost to development.  Despite the disruptions of the pandemic, or maybe because of them, real estate values are booming here. The plants and soils on preserved lands also mitigate the effects of climate change. We are in a race against time.
