Mountainlands Community Housing Trust

Park City Community Foundation is matching your gift from its Community Response Fund for COVID-19.

Everyone loves the laid-back vibe of Park City. But did you know that many of our locals can barely afford to live and work here? Mountainlands makes it easier. As affordable housing builders and advocates, they ensure that more Park City locals can buy or rent homes priced relative to the median wage, not the real estate market. Programs designed to provide a path to homeownership include Mutual Self-Help (where participants build homes they will own upon completion), Deed-Restricted Sale/Resales (which offer homes for sale well below market rate), and CROWN/Rent-to-Own.

COVID-19 has left many from our local workforce who were planning on purchasing an affordable home or currently on our rent-to-own, affordable rental, and transitional housing programs with reduced income or unemployed. Mountainlands will continue to work diligently to assist them however possible with their affordable housing needs.

The need for affordable housing in Summit and Wasatch Counties has increased dramatically in the past decade. A shortage of available affordable housing forces valuable local workers to move away from the area, increasing commute time (and impact on the community and its environment), decreasing quality time with their families, affecting work-life balance, and creating a recruitment and retention issue for employers.

Please join a community of leaders and givers who always lend a helping hand to neighbors in need—so that life is better for everyone who lives and works in Park City. Your support will be greatly appreciated.
