$100,000 goal

Help support the best and the brightest first-generation Park City High School student(s) in realizing their dream of being the first in their family to attend college.

Each dollar you contribute to the FIRST-GENERATION LEADERS SCHOLARSHIP will be doubled, thanks to a $50,000 matching grant from an anonymous donor.

The First-Generation Leaders Scholarship supports first-generation student(s) in completing a 4-year college degree by bridging the gap between financial aid/loans from their college and the total cost of  their college experience. First-generation students with material financial need who fulfill the requirements are eligible to apply for the Leaders Scholarship. To ensure students are able to complete their four-year college degree, grants are up to $10,000 per year for four years - for a total of up to $40,000 per student.

The Leaders Scholarship was established to allow the top one or two highest performing, civic-minded first-generation student(s) at Park City High School to earn a college degree without the crushing weight of high-priced, unsubsidized debt.

The Scholarship is awarded to the Park City High School student(s) who:

  • Are at the top of their class, academically.
  • Will be in the first generation of their family to attend college.
  • Have significant financial need.
  • Have demonstrated their commitment to our community through service during their high school years.
  • Seek to give back to Park City after their college graduation.

The Scholarship made its first grant in the Spring of 2022. The first recipient graduated from Park City High School with a 4.4 GPA and is the first woman in her family to complete high school. She is currently enrolled in Westminster’s four-year Nursing Program. Further, she is already giving back to our community in her role as a Nursing Assistant at Park City Hospital.  Upon graduation, she plans to return to Summit County to support the healthcare needs of our community.

In her own words:

“Let me share my gratitude for supporting me in my journey to college… your support has not only helped me to get to Westminster, but also to aid me in reaching my goal of becoming a nurse in the near future. I am currently working at Park City Hospital as a part time Nursing Assistant while being a full-time student. …thank you so much for the continued support towards my education and reaching my dreams.”
