Mountainlands is the main provider of affordable housing in the Wasatch Back.  Help us create more housing opportunities in our community!

Housing for People not Profit

Our mission is to create, preserve, and advocate for affordable housing in Summit and Wasatch Counties. Since 1993, we have completed over 300 affordable homes and 350 apartments.

With your support, we can continue to provide homes for the individuals and families that make our community the place we love.  At Mountainlands we believe housing is belonging and belonging builds a thriving community.

In May, Mountainlands welcomed our new Executive Director, Jason Glidden and he's been busy! Jason comes to Mountainlands after several years as Park City Municipal's Housing Program Manager and is a great addition to the team.

 HOPA Redevelopment

We were recently informed that the Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) application for the approved Holiday Village and Parkside redevelopment (HOPA) did not receive an allocation this round. While this is disappointing news, we believe that there is room for some optimism. The HOPA application is very competitive and is a strong candidate for an allocation in the next round which the Utah Housing Corporation just announced is being moved up to April. This is great news as it is only a few months off from our original schedule.

Mineros

Mountainlands completion of the Mineros Apartment building, a 24-unit multifamily rental building in Silver Creek Village, was great cause to celebrate this spring!  Mineros serves residents earning below 50% of the Area Median Income.  Mineros is a huge lift in filling the housing need for working families in our community.  Your Live PC Give PC donation will help us create more housing opportunities like Mineros along the Wasatch Back.

Parkview Place/ Self Help

Thirteen Parkview Place homes have been completed to date. Mountainlands will use the Self Help program to construct six unit townhomes on the remaining lots over the coming years.  The next 6 unit townhomes are now underway on the 49-lot affordable housing subdivision in Heber City.

The Self Help Program is a USDA/ Rural Development program sponsored by Mountainlands Community Housing Trust for low-income to very low-income families to achieve the dream of home ownership through “sweat equity”. Contact Self Help Manager Becky Cranney at becky@housinghelp.org for more information on how to apply for the next Self Help cohort.

Housing Resource Center

The Housing Resource Center just finished its 2nd year at Mountainlands. The HRC recently launched the rental incentive program, WE RIP for the 2024-2025 season and is looking forward to hosting the next Housing How-To in partnership with Park City Municipal and Habitat for Humanity. Learn more at the Mountainalnds HRC page. Whether you're looking for affordable housing or want to learn how to better support affordable housing along the Wasatch Back, you'll find what you need at the HRC. The HRC believes housing is belonging and belonging is what builds a thriving community.

Success Stories

Meet Mya, Diego, and Kara.  Their stories, like so many others in our community, are testimony to the life-changing impact of affordable housing along the Wasatch Back.  Your Live PC Give PC donations will help provide more housing opportunities to community builders like Mya, Diego, and Kara.

Thank You from the Mountainlands Team!

Each Live PC Give PC donation will help us to continue to advance affordable housing along the Wasatch Back!  We appreciate your support as we continue to address this critical need in our community.
